Good Morning GCVCC Members and Business Community,
Since the Governor made his announcement yesterday regarding new COVID-19 mitigation efforts, we have received multiple calls regarding how it impacts our local business community.
Did the Governors new restrictions go into effect right away?
The Governors orders are in place, but the additional restrictions have not been triggered for our region as of yet.
Did the Governor's new guidelines replace the State Tiered System?
No, the new guidelines are in addition to the State's "Blueprint for a Safer Economy" (or "Tiered System" as it is often referred to).
For the Governors new plan announced yesterday, are we still measured by our County statistics?
The Tiered System we have been under will continue to be driven by our County statistics, but the emergency plan the Governor announced yesterday is not. The additional emergency measures will be triggered by the aggregate ICU numbers of "Southern California" as a collocative region. The Southern California region is very large, including San Diego, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino Counties and more.
So where are we right now?
The new emergency measures will get triggered when the Sothern California Region reaches available ICU capacity of 15% or less. According to the State website, we currently as a region have an ICU capacity of 20.6%.
If the new emergency order does get triggered, how long will impacted businesses have to come into compliance?
If we reach 15% ICU capacity as a region, the Governors order would go into effect within 24 hours.
