September 2024

Principal Message

Dear Families,

We made it through the first week of school!

We are excited to have volleyball and cross country off and running (pun intended).  We believe students who are engaged in school activities beyond the classroom feel more engaged in school overall.

If your student is attending MGHS events such as football, basketball, the musical, etc, we expect them to follow the same rules as they would at GDS.  Students should spend the majority of the event sitting and watching the event, be kind to everyone, and cheer for our teams.  If students are unable to adhere to the expectations, parents will be called to pick them up and they could lose future event privileges.  Please discuss these expectations with your students before high school events take place.

Drop off and pick up have been going extremely well.  We appreciate your willingness to follow a couple simple protocols to make it all move quickly and safely.

GDS continues to ask for parent involvement. If you are interested in being involved in some way or another please let me know by emailing kristen.langer@mgschools.net

We were excited to introduce the new GDS Mascot “Silver” to our students at our all school assembly last Friday.  The students were super excited and the assembly went well.  We continue to strengthen our community at GDS and cultivate a sense of pride in ourselves and our school.

Please feel free to reachout with questions you may have.  Here is to a smooth September.

Kris
