Generators support critical facilities during emergencies 
 
GEFA and the Georgia Rural Water Association (GRWA) teamed up to better prepare the state during times of emergency. Using funding through the U.S. Department of Energy's State Energy Program, GEFA purchased nine Kohler generators to be deployed by GRWA in emergency situations. Watch video

Loan payments deferred for six months       

To help governments impacted by COVID-19, Governor Kemp directed GEFA to provide a six-month payment deferral period.  Read more
Communities receive financing for environmental infrastructure projects        
 
The GEFA board of directors awarded $27.3 million to 13 communities for water and wastewater infrastructure improvements during its May meeting.  Read more
Solar resiliency funding still available       

Through the Solar Resiliency Technical Assistance Program, GEFA is funding feasibility studies for local governments in solar energy and storage resiliency.  Read more
Drinking water grant application period now open       

GEFA's Small and Disadvantaged Communities Drinking Water Grant will provide funding for drinking water projects in underserved communities. All potential projects must complete an application that will be accepted until Friday, July 24, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.  Read more
