GEFA legislation signed into law 
On August 3, 2020, House Bill 901 was signed into law. This legislation gives GEFA the authority to make loans to nongovernmental entities for projects that permanently protect land and water. Read more

Renewable energy grants awarded to six organizations 
GEFA awarded six organizations $223,728 in renewable energy grants to install solar energy panels and increase awareness and education of renewable energy production. Read more
Georgia Funders' Forum Workshop: Accessing funds for water projects  
This workshop is provided by the Georgia Funders' Forum, a group of state and federal agencies that provide loans and grants for water projects in Georgia. The workshop will provide access to managers of various state and federal financing programs. Read more
Communities receive financing for environmental infrastructure projects 
The GEFA board of directors awarded $195.2 million to 21 communities for water, wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste infrastructure improvements during its August meeting. Read more

The call for projects period for 2021 Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund projects is open through February 26, 2021. Read more
Updated interest rates 
GEFA updated the interest rates for its state and federal loan programs. On August 27, the Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission sold 20-year general obligation bonds at a true interest cost rate of 1.63 percent, which GEFA uses to set its benchmark interest rate. The previous rate was 2.44 percent. Read more
