Steps for Financial Aid: Verification

What is Verification?
After you've applied for financial aid, you may be selected for verification.

Verification is a process that helps LCCC confirm that the information on your FAFSA is correct. This helps us make sure we are awarding financial aid correctly. Most of the time, your FAFSA will arrive at LCCC having already been selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education. Approximately 33% of FAFSAs are selected for verification.
If you are selected for verification, your financial aid will not be processed or awarded until you submit all required information.

You can see what information is needed in your Self-Service app in your myLCCC account. If any LCCC forms are required, you will find the link in Self-Service as well.
If you're missing documents: the sooner you can submit them, the better! Financial aid processing can take several weeks, or longer during peak times of year.

If you need help with verification, have documents to turn in, or have any questions, contact the LCCC Student Hub.
It's Not Too Late To Apply for Summer 2021 Financial Aid!

Make sure you have turned in the Summer 2021 financial aid application!* You can find the application in the Self-Service app in your myLCCC account.

*Note: 2021 high school graduates are not eligible for Summer 2021 financial aid.

If so, apply now to be a Student Ambassador!
Student Ambassadors give campus tours, support the work of the Admissions & Academic Advising department, and assist students with all aspects of their enrollment process at LCCC.

As a Student Ambassador, you'll gain leadership and professional skills, be part of a fun team, and have a conveniently located on-campus job that will work around your schedule!

Your Academic Advisor will be one of your most important resources throughout your time at LCCC!

Academic advisors are here to help you with all aspects of your academic journey at LCCC, not just with picking out your classes. They can help you map out your degree progress, connect you with academic support, help answer your questions, and cheer you on throughout your time at LCCC. They work with faculty and Pathway Coordinators to make sure that all students have the support they need to be successful. Your academic advisor is a great person to have in your corner!

Did you know that you can use the Navigate app (in your myLCCC account) to schedule your academic advising appointment?

Navigate is also where you will make your academic plan, register for classes, view your class schedule, and connect with your advisor and other campus services.
