What Does "Missing Documents" Mean?

time_management.jpg

Whether you've applied for financial aid for Summer 2025, for Fall 2025, or for both, applying is just the first step, and there is still time to fill out the 2025-2026 FAFSA for the Academic year 2025-2026!

Once LCCC receives your aid application, you may have additional steps, which could include providing requested documents to LCCC.

If you don't provide the required documents, it will put your entire financial aid process at a standstill! It's important for you to provide the requested documents at your earliest convenience so that we can keep processing your financial aid.

Verification

One of the most common reasons for having missing documents is that you have been selected for Verification.

Verification ensures that we have your information correct, and this process protects both the student and the school to ensure that we are following all applicable regulations when awarding your financial aid.

Check out this video to learn more about verification:

SAP Appeals

Another common missing document is a SAP Appeal.

SAP stands for Satisfactory Academic Progress. Learn more about SAP.

Even before you start at LCCC, you might need to submit a SAP appeal if you have a previous degree or a lot of transfer credits.

Or, if you're a continuing student and you have used your warning semester, you will also need to submit a SAP appeal.

Check out this video to learn more about SAP:

Missing Your Social Security Number (SSN)

Did you include your SSN on your application when you applied to attend LCCC? While it's always a good idea to be cautious about using your SSN, having your SSN on your record is the only way that LCCC can receive your FAFSA, which directly impacts the financial aid you receive.

If you are unsure if you included it, the Student Hub can check for you! Updating or adding it is easy: fill out this form and submit it to the Student Hub's secure online dropzone to update your account.

The LCCC Student Hub is here to help you if you have questions about your financial aid or paying for college!

Your gateway to all things LCCC!

Your myLCCC account is called your "student portal" because it serves as a portal, or doorway, to a lot of what you need as you get started and continue on at LCCC!

myLCCC connects you to dozens of "apps", much like smartphone apps, so that you can view important information, complete certain tasks, and engage with LCCC.

Here are some key apps that you need to be aware of as you're getting started at LCCC, and what you can use them for:

  • Email: Your official LCCC student email account. Receive important updates about financial aid, billing, and class registrations. Communicate with your Student Success Coach, instructors, and others on-campus
  • Navigate Student: Schedule appointments with your Student Success Coach; create and edit your personalized academic plan; register for classes; view helpful tips and to-dos to keep you on-track
  • Self-Service: Download billing statements, access required financial aid forms, accept your financial aid offers, and update your personal information, including your contact and emergency information and banking information, so you can receive financial aid refunds
  • Student Housing: Apply for on-campus housing; check your application status; sign your lease
  • Student Handbook: Learn about your rights and responsibilities as a student
