Worship 101: Application
As we have preached on the implications of Biblical worship the last 2 weeks, I know there are still some people struggling to let go of preconceived ideas about worship, who its for and what it is.
It, for sure, should be a celebration; but a celebration of Jesus, and not us. It, for sure, be an inspiration; we should be motivated to die to ourselves and become more like Jesus. Then there is application; the actual picking up of our cross and following Jesus.
The bottom line is all of our worship is not about style, liturgy, or even who the preacher is. Worship is a response; a heart, soul, and bodily response to Jesus as both Savior AND Lord. The presence of Jesus is to be felt in the world, as disciples go out and repel darkness and love unconditionally.
Honestly, the American Christian Church should probably repent of the entertainment factory it has made of our churches and worship. The problem is we have become very good hearers of the Word, without feeling any compulsion to be doers of the Word. Join us Sunday, as we wrap our series on worship and hit the re-set button on authentic faith.
