I have loved our "Heaven Comes to Earth" series and our non-traditional way of looking at Advent. Janice did a fantastic job with forgiveness last week and, in case you missed it, you should give that a listen. This week we look at the issue of “Temptation.” This is an issue that plagues us all and comes for us all, no one is exempt from this desire-based lure. This is why when Jesus teaches us to pray He includes, "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil." Temptation always leads to evil and they become co-partners in our destruction. This always seems like such simple advice, but it is advice that frequently goes unheeded. This Sunday, we take a deeper look into the temptation of Christ and Paul’s advice for fleeing the enemy. The bottom line is this: if Satan will come after Jesus, he for sure is coming after us. Lastly, we should be aware that the opposite of light is darkness and the darkness hates the light, and thus Satan hates Christmas, too many potential lights. I love you church. It is a full week of celebrating Jesus and I am looking forward to doing it together virtually, and together in person.
