This Sunday we come to what theologians call the Pastoral Letters. Paul doesn’t write to a specific church, he writes to a specific person, this person being his young protégé, Timothy. What we have in these two-epistles are lessons in leadership from a mentor to the student. What I love about what God has planned for us Sunday is that this is a word that has ripple effect beyond just its benefit to the local church and the family of God. There are tons of take-aways for all leaders. The Timothy correspondence provides insight into what it looks like when you invest in the life of another and the ripple effect that comes from that investment. I believe these letters to Timothy must be read with the idea that these words would place our lives on Heaven's anvil, and then these universal truths would beat us into shape for a holy purpose. Lastly, I believe we all lead something and simultaneously we are all being led somewhere. It's important to understand these influences and implications for daily life. Can’t wait to share Sunday worship with our church family.
