GERS ANNOUNCES UPCOMING RETIREE TRUSTEE ELECTIONS/NOMINATION PACKETS AVAILABLE

St. Thomas, VI –

GERS Administrator and CEO, Angel E. Dawson, Jr., advises retirees that, in accordance with Act 6794 (3 VIC 715), the Government Employees’ Retirement System of the Virgin Islands (GERS) will conduct elections to select one (1) retiree from each district to serve on the GERS Board of Trustees. 

Eligibility requirements provide that only retirees of the Government Employees’ Retirement System of the Virgin Islands are eligible to vote and to seek election to the Board. Candidates must be GERS retirees with a minimum of five (5) years of experience and possess at least a bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Investment Banking, Economics, Finance, Insurance, Law, Medicine, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Taxation, Real Estate Appraisal or Brokerage, or Securities Trading. 

To be considered for nomination, candidates must submit a completed nomination packet, which includes the Nominating Petition, Biographical Sketch, and Candidate Questions forms. All forms must be fully completed and signed. Nomination packets must be submitted via mail or email and received no later than March 2, 2026, at one of the following locations:
