SoulShaping: From Soul Neglect to Spiritual Vitality #4

GET BEYOND GOOD INTENTIONS
2 CORINTHIANS 3:7-18
Pastor Doug

Spiritual growth is not automatic. Our best intentions will not change us by themselves. Many strategies (such as guilt, emotionalism, and will power) are inadequate for us to discover and sustain the motivation for consistent training in godliness. Motivation is best generated when we catch the vision for the new life God has for us in Christ. The ‘glory’ of the Old Covenant faded, but the glory of our transformation into Christlikeness now is an ever-increasing possibility.
Sermon Reflection Questions available on the Small Groups page of the website Friday evening.
Trinity and Omicron
We are aware of concerns around the transmission of the Omicron variant of Covid-19. Over the holiday period a number of staff and members of the congregation did become sick, but thankfully for many the symptoms were mild and passed quickly. We do believe that we are taking appropriate measures to mitigate the risks, with recommended mask-wearing in services, and open doors to increase ventilation. However, we feel it right to acknowledge that the risk level is higher than normal, and that you should take extra precautions if you are vulnerable, with underlying health conditions, unvaccinated etc. In such circumstances you may wish to join us via the livestream broadcast until such time as the Omicron surge decreases. Also, if you are feeling at all unwell, please stay home to be on the safe side, and help keep everybody healthy. Thank you for your continued understanding and patience in these trying times.
