Considering we just transitioned into the regional MLS (MRMLS), I think it's a great opportunity to talk about handling change.

I'd like to point out that this is not a "new" Flexmls. It is the same Flexmls system we have been in for the past several years. We have new ways to search and work within Flexmls now that we are part of the MRMLS.

I understand that change isn't always easy and can be really uncomfortable. However, change can also present many opportunities for growth and development. Change is a choice - you can either accept it positively or resist it with negativity. Acknowledging change and having an open mind to learning is a step toward completing the task. Staying in a positive frame of mind allows you to work through changes/challenges and move forward. In addition, the more you work within the MRMLS the more familiar it will be and you'll find it easier to access what you need. Take the time to watch the help videos and read the guides and glossaries. I say this to my buyers and sellers often when in the grind of the home buying process -”This will be uncomfortable, and you need to adapt and roll with the punches, because after you complete your transaction, you will probably forget about the whole process in a week or two."

With that said, I wanted to give you 5 quotes and steps to help us embrace change:
1)      “Those who expect moments of change to be comfortable and free of conflict have not learned their history.” —Joan Wallach Scott
2)       “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” —Henry Ford
3)       “Of course there is no formula for success except, perhaps, an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.” —Arthur Rubinstein
4)       “The price of doing the same old thing is far higher than the price of change.” —Bill Clinton
5)      “Never be afraid of change. You may lose something good, but you may gain something even Better”

It's going to take time to adapt to the MRMLS system but I’m confident we will all get through it. In our business we are experts at being flexible and responsive to changes. You’ll eventually like what the system offers...possibly like it more than what we had before. Change can be frustrating and scary. However, with the right attitude, outlook and actions, you can find opportunities in that change.

  •  Members MUST sign into FlexMLS at mt.flexmls.com in order to see the dashboard and have access to SentriLock, RPR, ZipForms, Transaction Desk, etc.
  •  If you have not received your username and password for the Regional please email GFAR staff and they will provide you with this information.
  •  For technical support, you can contact the Flex Support Line which is a benefit of membership in the Montana Regional MLS. The number is 1-888-525-4747
  • If you need to login to the old system to retrieve any information that did not transition to the new system, you must use two separate browsers to do this so it does not confuse the program. (For instance, staff at GFAR are logged in to the Regional with Google Chrome and logged in to the old GTF Flex with Microsoft Edge)
  • Map Overlays did not move over yet, Flex is actively working on this and we will update you once it is completed.
  • CMA’s did not move over, this is due to the difference in fields and the level of accuracy in moving them over was not high enough to export without causing issues to the data.
  • Several GTF fields that did not have a corresponding MT field were mapped to the Public Remarks. There is no quick fix for this other than to edit your listing to remove any data you do not want.
  • The GFAR Message Board is now available. As you learned in training last week, to add the gadget to your dashboard, select customize, then add gadget, then Daily, then add Message Board. Once you see the blank message board on your dashboard, click the 3 dots and choose Settings, then in the Messages Drop Down, select GFAR – Message Board. The dashboard can also be viewed at www.gfar.realtor/dashboard
  • The Blue Links from the old system are live on the Message Board described above and can be accessed on the Flex Dashboard or at www.gfar.realtor/dashboard
  • Support Staff or Office Assistants are not in the main Office/Member Search Function. This prevents them from being displayed inaccurately as REALTORS® in the data feeds. To find a support staff members information, click Office/Member Search and then to the right of the search bar select Options and then check the box that says not in list. Then type in your search parameters and they will show up.
  • In the fields, Commission List Type has the options of EXA and ERS. EXA stands for Exclusive Agency and ERS stands for Exclusive Right to Sell.
  • The main dashboard when you log in now has the GFAR “Blue Links.”
  • When logging into Flex, it will not allow you to use a Saved Password. This is part of the upgraded security of the Regional that enables higher data security. You will need to enter your password every time you log into Flex.
  • Initially Square Footage of Residential properties was showing incorrectly, this has now been fixed.
  • SentriLock is now live and requires you to login with your mt.username (the same one you now login to Flex with). The password remains the same as before, but keep in mind that your Password and Pin Number are two different items. Your Pin that you access lockboxes with is a 4 digit code, while your password is longer requiring at least 8 characters, an upper case letter, a lower case letter and a number.
  • The new MLS numbers are now reflecting accurately in SentriLock and you are able to assign your lockboxes to your new listings. They may state Pending Assignment at first but will complete the assignment on their own.
  • Reciprocity is now live for the Associations utilizing SentriLock. As stated at the training, you are now able to show properties in Missoula and Kalispell that have SentriLock Lockboxes on them just as you would in Great Falls. A reminder that Helena does not utilize SentriLock and you will need to arrange showings with the listing agent of the property.
