GFDA Releases

2026-2028 Economic Development Strategy

People • Place • Opportunities • Team

Every year the Great Falls Development Alliance assesses our results and market threats and opportunities to determine what updates to make to our regional economic development strategy. The strategy identifies the priorities for our economic development work and details specific actions we will undertake to produce the greatest possible mission-driven impact.

Our Board, Council, investors, partners, clients and staff all provided valuable input into this year's updates. Last Thursday, our Board unanimously approved the updates and we presented the updated strategy to our investors on Tuesday.

The strategy continues our focus on four areas: People, Place, Opportunities and Team. The updates take advantage of the freight logistics, downtown Great Falls, pulse crop processing, recreation and entertainment, and energy market assessments that we completed in the past year. It takes into account GFDA's commitment earlier this year to take the lead on defense mission support and advocacy. It dedicates resources to shepherd the six major projects that have recently been announced to do everything we can to see these projects through to fruition. And the updated strategy hones in on the actions that have been producing the most results.

It takes a great team to put plans into action. We're lucky to have a great team! Download our updated GFDA Team flyer with contact info.

Thank you to everyone who helped determine how we should invest our time and money to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN!

We have already started to put the new strategy to work.
