Food Processing Safety Videos Series

Montana has some of the best food processors in the world and there are many partners across the state working to support existing and startup processors. As part of this effort, we partnered with the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center (MMEC) to produce a series of 10 food safety videos geared specifically to food processors.

Our Great Falls Region Food & Ag Development Center took the lead, but we couldn't have done it without funding from the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant program through the Montana Department of Agriculture. Claude Smith, the outstanding food processing specialist of the MMEC shares his expertise built on years of leadership managing Montana food processing operations.

We hope these videos help Montana processors to prosper and grow! So grab your favorite Montana snacks and beverages and enjoy the videos!

The Montana Food and Ag Development Center Network can provide support to help you start or grow your food processing business.

Increasing and diversifying food, ag and bio processing is one of the strategic priorities in our Economic Development Strategy. Processing operations create manufacturing jobs, indirect jobs that support manufacturing, and tax base. They also create new local market opportunities for farmers and ranchers that can diversify risk and generate more revenue.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Special thanks to Anna Flies, our outgoing amazing Food & Ag Development Center Director, and industry-star videographer Paris Bread of Fresh Bread Productions!
