Membership Happenings
GFWC St. Petersburg Junior Woman's Club has been helping front line workers during the pandemic by making masks. Their social distancing, no-contact assembly line worked wonderfully, and together they were able to cut, sew, and finish 215 masks that were delivered within the community!
The Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove sewed and donated 400+ masks to families served by the YWCA-Miami. They also partnered with Social Girls in Miami to provide masks for hungry and homeless residents. In total they have sewn and donated over 1200 eco-friendly reusable masks.
GFWC Southside Woman’s Club of Jacksonville did not let COVID 19 or quarantine orders keep them from last project for the year! Club members constructed and installed a Little Free Library, and nine masked members gathered to stock the library with books. The club is thrilled with the interest their Library has already generated.
GFWC Melbourne Woman's Club became involved with "Save Green Gables", an initiative to halt the demolition of a 124 year old historic home in Melbourne. Members helped with the initiative to purchase and restore the home and have it operate as a living history museum, Education Center and Community Center. F unds were raised by the June 1st deadline and Green Gables was able to submit for a matching grant.
GFWC Lutz-Land O' Lakes Woman's Club selected seven students to receive college scholarships. The club is immensely proud to have awarded a total of $25,000 in scholarships to local students this year.

The Woman's Club of Stuart is very proud of club member Deb Pfrogner. Deb made 700 masks to help fight the corona virus. She was thanked by the Veterans Hospital team for her contribution. Her husband surprised her with a very "special" t-shirt to acknowledge all of her hard work!
GFWC Lakeshore Woman's Club Public Issues chairman Anita Ray arranged a show of appreciation for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Zone 4. Club members delivered Papa John's pizza to the substation. They also brought snacks and fun puzzles to thank the officers for all they do for club members and for the city.

GFWC High Springs New Century Woman's Club partnered with Slay’s Nursery and the City of High Springs Parks & Recreation to plant a red maple tree at the High Springs Museum in honor of Arbor Day and GFWC Federation Day.
GFWC Vero Beach Woman’s Club is making new friends. A local non-profit, Dogs for Life, spoke at a club meeting. The CEO brought her golden doodle Lola, and a USMC veteran brought his golden retriever GiGi. Dogs for Life trains service dogs for veterans and people with disabilities, helping to improve the lives of people and dogs.
