I want to send our thoughts, prayers and love to the family of Angie Redshaw, who was serving as the President of the Valdosta Junior Woman’s Club. Angie was a caring teacher, wife, and Mother whose smile could brighten your day. She loved helping others and volunteering in her community. She was loved by so many and we will deeply miss her. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers.
I also want to extend our deepest sympathy to Annette Belk, who lost her son last month. David Cook was a state trooper who also worked as a firefighter and emergency medical technician in South Carolina. Annette serves as our South East District Director of Junior Clubs. Please keep Annette and her family in your prayers during this very difficult time.
It’s Time for Institute:
I am very excited to invite you to Institute 2019 in Athens Georgia. It is time to register for August 16 – the LEADS conference. Consider sending one or more of your members to the LEADS workshop to learn leadership skills as well as information about GFWC. We belong to a great organization and want to share it with others.
August 17 – 18
are days filled with speakers, hands on learning experiences, a “Recycle” fashion show featuring the District presidents, District Junior Directors and the executive board. It should be quite entertaining.
is the Junior Conference business meeting (short meeting) and LOTS of great learning about Women’s Health. You don’t want to miss Sunday morning and it is included in your registration fee.
Please go online today and reserve your room at the Hyatt and also register for the Summer Institute at
. We will have a time of Junior fun on Saturday night after dinner – more details to follow.
I am also excited to share with you the awards and news from our International Convention held last month in Austin, TX. We had a wonderful time learning, and sharing information and ideas with the ladies from all over the United States and the world. Remember that next year, we are the hosts of the 2020 International convention. It is going to be great!!
Be sure and send your pictures and club activities to Freda Tylor at the following emails. We want to see what your clubs are doing in your communities.
