Do You Have a New Email Address, etc.?
Ladies, we need your help - We want to make sure everyone is receiving our State "Let's Connect" Bulletins and Invitations to State meetings. Can you help us? Please let us know if you have a change of address, a new phone number/email or have a different way you wish to be contacted. We try to keep up, but sometimes the only person to tell us about these changes is you. Also, if you have a new member in your club, please let us know by entering their information directly into our database, or by emailing us, or sending in your seasonal recruitment forms.

Thank you!
CPR Tidbits!
The overall goal of our Communications & Public Relations committee (CPR) is to provide our Clubs and its members the tools and resources they need to become vital charitable partners within their communities. Below please find a few resources and ideas. We would also like to enlist your help in populating our volunteer calendar and scholarship pages.

Our website has many tools and resources for our clubs such as forms, templates, "how to" instructional videos, speakers bureau, etc. In addition to providing our members the resources they need, one of the goals for the website is to appear in google searches as often as possible. If you haven't visited our website lately, we added a " Scholarship Page" . Each year parents and students are searching for scholarships and we are hopeful that our page will show up in those google searches. If your club offers scholarships - please send us the details and contact info so we can place this information on our website. To view the Scholarship Page please click the following link: https://gfwcgeorgia.org/community-service-student-scholarships/ Please know that this is a work in progress.

Another new page that was added to our site is the " Volunteer with Us" page which contains a Volunteer Calendar. It would be wonderful if everyone could send us dates for their service events or fundraisers. You can send me an email with the pertinent information, but preferably we would like you to send us a calendar notice with the details. Any club member can do this on behalf of your club. Check out our Volunteer with Us Page: https://gfwcgeorgia.org/volunteer-with-us/

To help you with the process, below are two instructional videos to show you step by step on how you can post your events to our site by using your Iphone or Google Calendar. Of course there are many ways to send a calendar notice Outlook, android apps, etc. The first video on the left is the introduction and iphone calendar and the second video shows you how to use google calendar. If you view this from your phone it may appear small, look at the upper left corner for arrows or a box with arrows, click that and it will enlarge the screen.
Does your club need funds to pay for supplies for your service projects? The CPR team found a few companies in and around the metro-Atlanta area that offer nonprofits the opportunity to work shifts at various venues. If you have stadiums, amphitheaters, etc. in your area - reach out to them to see if they need staffing for their events - it's easier for a venue to pay a nonprofit with one check instead of many contract people. This will help with Fundraising for your Club and Branding for Our Organization - make sure you wear GFWC logoed shirts or a GFWC pin or iron on patch when you serve if it is allowed.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium provides Nonprofit groups the opportunity to work its Concession Stands to raise money for their organizations. Mercedes Benz Stadium is home to the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United, in addition to concerts, etc Levy Group also contracts with other sports venues so ask for other opportunities.

sell tickets for braves or request inkind donations for your club's fundraising event - https://www.mlb.com/braves/community/fundraising-and-giving

Website Seek and Find: D id you know that our website honors our past presidents/life directors by placing their symbols on some of our pages?  Can you find them? There are 13 photos of Life Director symbols.

Next month the CPR team will provide you with information on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and how our clubs can benefit from this new trend. As always, if you have a suggestion for the website, or a form, or would like to see us to create a how to video for you on a particular item, please let us know at Website@gfwcgeorgia.org

Junior Conference Corner
#GAJUNIORSROCK
I hope you all are enjoying your summer. I have asked our Junior Conference Newsletter editor, Freda Tylor with the Augusta Juniors, to share with us this month. Freda is sharing from her personal experience on healthy living suggestions. If you have pictures of club events or a story you would like to share (including recipes), please send to Freda. Her emails are listed below.

Freda’s Article:
I can’t believe that it’s summer already! As we all head on vacation or plan parties, let’s all try to eat a little healthier. I will soon be heading to Hilton Head Island and by watching my carbs and sugar, I am 20 lbs. lighter than months ago and my A1C (sugar level) is much better. Yay!! Some days are easier than others but I have learned it’s okay to have a small bite of something you have been craving but make up for it the next day. I could not tolerate some of the artificial sweeteners, so I found that “sugar in the raw” works better for me and I use less. So find what works best for you and take it one day at a time. Watch your portions and try to eat about every 3 hours to prevent hunger. Always include protein with your meal or snack. String cheese and hardboiled eggs are excellent examples of protein. The Keto Diet is a one way to start and always drink more water. Since all of this is new to me, I would love to hear what works for you. After all, we’re all in this together!
With cookouts and upcoming 4 th of July celebrations, I want to share this sugar-free BBQ sauce that I have used for years. It’s so easy and the best thing is that you add the spices to your tastes.

SUGAR-FREE BBQ SAUCE
Ketchup                        Tabasco Sauce
Diet Pepsi                    Garlic Powder and any other spices you like

In a small saucepan over low heat, start with ½ cup of ketchup, add in Diet Pepsi or Coke to desired thickness. Stir and add tabasco sauce and other seasonings to taste. You can add more ketchup and diet coke if you need a larger serving. Stir until hot. Goes great over chicken or ribs.

Be sure to send me your recipes. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Institute!

Just a reminder to sign up for Institute as we will have LOTS of good information on Healthy Living and fun activities this year.
