Dear Federated Sisters,
The Institute survey results are in - we had 182 responses. As always, we appreciate your input and take your comments and suggestions seriously. When planning our next event we will definitely keep your suggestions in mind. This is your organization and it’s important to Lead, Encourage and Inspire and that begins with listening to our members. Thank you.
The goal of institute to is to educate our members about procedures, protocol and provide ideas to our members so they can bring back what they learned at Institute to their club members along with a little fun and games. We are always hopeful that you enjoy Institute, meet new friends across the State, learn something new and have some fun over the course of the weekend. We feel that we accomplished our goal of educating our members as 93.5% of our attendees felt that they learned actionable information that they could bring back to their clubs. And 110 of you responded that you will attend Institute again and 109 of you will recommend Institute to others. Thank you.
We learned how you would like to see improvements in the future and will take this into consideration as we plan for future state events. A special thanks to all of the committees and chairmen who made the day a success with their hard work and dedication to providing a wonderful experience to our membership. Please know that we are listening and will always do our best to meet your needs.
I look forward to seeing everyone at their district meetings. Earn another badge by bringing your Dr. Seuss book.
With much federated love and appreciation,
Tina Daniel
GFWC GA State President 2018-2020
Tina's Pearl of Wisdom for the day:

Junior Conference Corner
#GAJUNIORSROCK
|
|
I just returned from the GFWC Executive Meeting and feel very blessed to represent Georgia at the International level. Trisha shared her vision for the 2018-2020 administration for the Junior Conference. One of the items that the Junior Conference is sponsoring is “Where in the World is GFWC”? The goal is to bring awareness to GFWC by taking a picture with the sign wherever you go and post to #GFWC1820. There will be winners for the most creative, funniest and furthest distance. Please print copies, laminate and share with your club members to use. I have seen some from Paris and some with a flat tire on the side of the road. Be Creative – Let’s have the winning entry from Georgia. All GFWC members are encouraged to participate (not just Juniors).
“Journey to Healthy Living”
In September:
- Sleep is such an important part of Healthy Living. Your challenge is to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night for the next 30 days.
- Steps – Take the steps at your work, while shopping, hotels, and anywhere you go instead of the elevator or escalator. Let’s try to climb 10 flights a week.
- Sugar Intake - Limit your sugar and sugar substitutes this month. Drink lots of water instead.
- Strengthen a friendship this month. Reach out to a friend with a card, flowers or lunch this month. You will feel better and so will the other person. It is What you Do for Others That Counts!

Ronald McDonald House
We are still collecting for the Ronald McDonald House. We raised $800 at Institute and my goal was $1,100 (10 nights for a family). We are going to tour the Ronald McDonald house on November 13th at 11 am in Atlanta and present a check to them. If you would like to support the House, please send a check to GFWC Georgia Junior Conference at the state headquarters. I have attached information on the Ronald McDonald House. https://youtu.be/2XPRXxD-fIo . Please consider joining us on November 13th - more details to come. Also, continue collecting the pop tops as there will be a prize for the club that brings the most to Convention in April.
Don’t forget the Goal of 10% increase in membership for the year. I love seeing how clubs are reaching out to their communities. Let’s make the Year End a great push for New Members! Share your ideas and pictures with our facebook page: GFWC Georgia Junior Conference. Remember to tag photos #GAJuniorsRock. Also, Send your articles to Freda Tylor at JrNews@gfwcgeorgia.org for the October newsletter. I pray you have a wonderful beginning to your Fall Season!
