Schools across GGUSD have been hosting successful Back to School Nights to welcome students and families to the new school year! These events provide a wonderful opportunity for families to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and learn about the exciting programs and opportunities available for students. We are grateful for the strong partnerships with our families that help ensure a great year ahead!

GGUSD Values Student Leadership and Voice

This week, GGUSD’s new Student Senate held its first meeting of the year, marking an exciting step forward in student leadership and collaboration! ️The newly launched model includes elected student representatives from each of our eight high schools, coming together to elevate student voice and work directly with district leadership. We’re so proud of these student leaders for stepping up, sharing their perspectives, and making a positive impact on the district.

GGUSD Honors Its Home Grown Staff

GGUSD is proud to celebrate our #HomeGrown staff in honor of our 60th anniversary year! Today, we’re highlighting Anita Garcia, a proud Santiago High School graduate who now serves as a School Community Liaison at Clinton Elementary.

Anita has been part of the GGUSD family for almost 8 years and says, “This is home for me—it feels like I never left. I was raised here, and now my own children attend schools in the district. GGUSD shaped who I am, and I want to give back to the community that gave me so much.”

Her favorite thing about GGUSD is the powerful connection between staff, students, and families. “There’s genuine care, love, and support here—it’s more than just a workplace; it’s a community where people lift each other up and work together to make a difference.”

GGUSD has partnered with Varsity Tutors to offer FREE 24/7 live chat tutoring and one-hour tutoring sessions to support students in their academic success (Goal 1). The program is accessible from home through ClassLink using a district-provided device.
