A Model Worth Adopting: Joint Ownership Structures for CDCs

David A. Goldstein and Jason Labate recently published an article in the Journal of Affordable Housing and Community Development Law entitled Changing the Paradigm: Creating Scale and Keeping Local Expertise in Nonprofit Affordable Housing Development – How to Stop Competing with Fellow CDCs and Embrace a Joint Ownership Structure " . It features a case study of JOE NYC, highlighting its early success, and offers guidance on how CDCs in other municipalities and regions across the country can replicate the model.

Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) Dispute
Practice Group

Disputes among partners or investors of LIHTC projects often leave not-for-profit and for-profit developers vulnerable because they don’t know their rights. To meet this need, Goldstein Hall recently developed a LIHTC Dispute practice group focused on defending developers and enforcing their rights .

Goldstein Hall is one of the leading law firms representing developers in LIHTC disputes across the country . Working with developers from the early stages of development, we understand your unique challenges and are singularly positioned to vigorously defend you. The result is holistic legal representation at every stage of the development process.

If you are a developer in an agreement to develop or rehabilitate a LIHTC project, contact David Goldstein or Brian Markowitz to review your rights.
