Community Investment
Hello Griffins! My name is DeAnna Macias, I am the Director of Community Engagement and Academy Giving for GHNO. I love building a strong community of parents and teachers but my most important job is running our annual Community Investment Campaign at GHNO.
I have been a mom of a Great Hearts school since 2014 when GHMV opened, I graduated my oldest from there in 2018 and my two youngest have attended GHNO since the opening in 2015. Our family considers it an honor to support the CI campaign, where all our gifts stay right here on campus. I invite you to join me in supporting our school. This is the single most important way you can support our teachers and school.

Join our mission and support GHNO!

You can set up your Community Investment contributions here. We ask families who are able, to give $1,200 per school year for each student. This helps us fill the gap between what we receive from the state (about $1500 less per student than district schools) versus what it actually takes to run our prep-school program. Please consider giving $110 per month from August to June to meet this $1,200 per student need. Please note: if you are unable to give the requested amount, a gift at any level is greatly appreciated! Should you have questions please contact me at DeAnna Macias for assistance.

Thank you to all our families who are already giving to the Community Investment Campaign for the 2021-22 school year! We are so grateful for your support.
Attendance
Below is the Great Hearts Academies attendance policy for the 2021–2022 school year. Attendance is taken daily at 7:50 a.m. and again at 10:30 a.m. If your child is not in school at 10:30 a.m., he or she is considered absent for the day, unless a same-day doctor’s note is provided. At Great Hearts Academies, the expectation is for your child to attend school at a minimum of 97 percent of the school year. This translates to no more than 5 missed school days per year. We realize each student’s situation is different and we are living through unprecedented times. We will work with each family to ensure we are all acting in the best interest of students.

In order to be promoted, TEC requires students to attend a minimum of 90 percent of classes. If scholars fail to attend school on more than 17 days within one school year, Great Hearts Academies may refer students to the campus attendance committee in consideration of retention. Students may be withdrawn from school after 5 consecutive days of nonattendance.

If your student will be absent, please send an email to Rebecca Danet with your student's name, grade, and reason for the absence.
Lunch Delivery & School Visitors
The breakfast and lunch menus can be found here! Breakfast runs 7:15-7:45 in the lower school MPR. Please note: we are moving to a single-choice lunch option. Menus will reflect this at a later date. Please see this email for the menu for the upcoming weeks.

Lunch Delivery: Students should bring their lunch to school with them daily. Hot lunch is also available on campus for free for all students.

If lunch is forgotten at home, parents may drop it off at the lower school front desk by 10 a.m.
Lunches will be delivered to classrooms for only K-1st graders.

All other students should check the lunch table outside the MPR if they anticipate lunch delivery. If a student does not have lunch, a school hot lunch will be provided.

Parents may deliver outside food for students on special occasions. Lunch deliveries by outside service providers will not be accepted.

Visitors: Though we would have hoped to welcome more families back on our campus, such as parent lunch visits, at this time we must limit visits to our campus to only those volunteers essential to school operations.
