Community Engagement
Thank you Volunteers!
We did it! We showed up and provided volunteers for the 2021 Valero Texas Open! Earning us much needed

It was so wonderful to see parents, and students working together and being such a beautiful example of our GHNO community!

We are especially grateful to Mr. Terry Layton, Mrs. Kim Paulos, Mrs. Zerbe who volunteered several days! and we cannot forget Mrs. Chris Ewing who lead and closed down our weekend crews!

Thank you GHNO Families!

Should you see this sticker, make sure and thank your fellow families for supporting GHNO!

Every gift counts and matters to us, if you have yet to make a gift this year, you can do so here.

Currently we are at a 48% family participation rate, and typically at a 64%. This year has had it's struggles which is why your support is more important than ever!

Texas Charter School Advocacy
GH Advocacy Corner
  • GH Parent Advocacy Manager Bridie Chaudoir led a virtual meeting on Monday, March 22, with a select group of parent advocates to inform State Rep. Steve Allison about Great Hearts. It was a valuable discussion, as Allison, who represents parts of central and north San Antonio, sits on the public education committee and will hear pro- and anti-charter bills in the coming weeks.
  • If you would like to assist GH Parent Advocacy Manager Bridie Chaudoir with advocacy efforts at your campus, please email her at [email protected]
  • Stay tuned for any call to action alerts from the Texas Public Charter School Association regarding pending bills in the Texas House and Senate that would prohibit cities and municipalities from discriminating against charter schools. These call to action items might include submitting online comments in support of these bills.
  • The Texas Legislature has begun committee hearings in the coming weeks. It is crucial that we charter parents follow legislation that could impact our schools. Please sign up for parent advocacy updates through the Texas Public Charter School Association at the following link:  https://txcharterschools.org/join-tpcsas-team-of-advocates/
