Survey Mapping
is the technique of creating 2D & 3D planimetric linework, volumes, contours and rectified orthomosaic imagery which is used in the surveying and engineering profession. Surveyors use this information to prepare Results of Survey and ALTA drawings. Engineers use this information for designing roadways, subdivisions and development projects.
The “
Survey Mapping Made Simple
” book series is dedicated to the use of drones to capture the imagery needed and the procedures to create survey mapping products at survey grade for horizontal and vertical accuracies of 0.02’ to 0.06’ per the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) accuracy standards.
The horizontal and vertical accuracy that is needed for
Survey Mapping
is not covered in the
GIS Mapping
book. Please see the entire “
Survey Mapping Made Simple
” book series for instructions on how to produce these deliverables.
