Workshop and Presentation Proposals Invited for URISA's 2019 Caribbean GIS Conference in Trinidad 

The 2019 #CaribbeanGIS Conference Committee is now inviting both workshop and presentation proposals, due on or before May 8, 2019 All proposals received will be reviewed and considered for the educational program.

URISA's Professional Education Committee has been working on a series of Geospatial Fact Sheets (FAQs) to highlight relevant issues and policies and provide guidance on how you can obtain more information about these topics.

GIS Awards Season - Deadlines Approaching

Each year, URISA recognizes members for their contributions to the association and the community at large. 

URISA also recognizes Government agencies that have demonstrated extraordinary achievements in the use of geospatial information technology that have improved the delivery and quality of government services (Exemplary Systems in Government Awards) and the URISA GIS Hall of Fame recognizes and honors esteemed leaders of the geospatial community.

The 25th Anniversary of CalGIS in Fresno was a Success

The event featured extremely well-attended workshops, a busy exhibit hall, middle school GIS superstars and a packed educational agenda

2019 Event Calendar: Connect Locally!

Have you had a chance to check out the online event calendar for all of the regional and URISA chapter events taking place?   The Northern Rockies and Alabama Chapters just completed successful events and URISA's  Oregon Chapter hosts GIS in Action next week. May is packed with events in Ontario, Ohio, and Washington.

Have you taken the GIS Service Pledge?

In partnership with Esri, GISCorps launched a program called the "GIS Service Pledge". Esri has committed to donating personal use licenses of its ArcGIS software for each GISCorps volunteer who takes a "GIS Service Pledge" to volunteer for a good cause.

URISA's GISCorps volunteers can leverage this software donation to support any topic or organization they are passionate about that meets GISCorps' mission and its policies, whether local or abroad. Examples could include supporting a local food bank, land trust, or animal shelter. For details, click here

The next testing window for the GISCI Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge Exam® as a part of the GISP Certification is scheduled for June 1-8, 2019.  Learn more .
