Actuary of Tomorrow - Stuart A. Robertson Memorial Scholarship
Application due TODAY, June 1, 2020
Stuart A. Robertson, FSA, MAAA (1918-2005) was a distinguished actuary who co-founded the actuarial and consulting firm Milliman & Robertson (now Milliman, Inc.). The Actuary of Tomorrow – Stuart A. Robertson Memorial Scholarship was established to honor his dedication to excellence and recognize his tremendously positive influence on the professional lives of many colleagues. The scholarship recognizes and encourages the academic achievements of undergraduate students pursuing a career in actuarial science.

CAS Student Central Summer Program
Program Date: June 15, 2020 - August 7, 2020
Apply By: June 2, 2020
Over an 8-week period, students will
- Complete weekly modules that focus on a variety of property and casualty actuarial topics including pricing, reserving, data visualization and predictive modeling.
- Connect with mentors for weekly discussions as students advance through the program.
- Build important soft skills, such as presentation skills, resume/interview prep, professional courtesies and more!
- Work on teams with other students on a case competition addressing a real-life actuarial problem.
- Present their final projects to a panel of practicing actuaries.
Students will spend approximately 10 hours a week participating in the program and are expected to attend the program in its eight-week entirety. Students who complete the program will be issued a certificate by the CAS documenting their accomplishment.

The Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals (AICP) is offering undergraduate students the following three $1,500 scholarships:

- AICP Insurance Career Advancement Scholarship (2)

OLA Academy
March to September
OLA Academy is a web-based program that prepares OLA candidates for the recruiting process. In 2020, the program will run from March to September. OLA Academy participants will get training on:
- Resume writing
- Interviewing
- Networking
- Designing an effective LinkedIn profile
OLA Academy participants will be matched with volunteers to put their new skills into practice. Completing the OLA Academy curriculum is required for the OLA Travel Sponsorship Program.
OLA sponsors Latinx actuarial candidates to attend various conferences such as the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) Convention and the Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) Conference, among others. At these conferences, attendees will have an opportunity to network with actuaries, and, in some cases, interview for positions.

Through this program, successful applicants have the opportunity to experience working in the surety and fidelity industry through a paid
summer internship
. Upon successful completion of the internship, students are eligible for a
scholarship
of up to $5,000.
