PROS Master Plan Update
On October 21, community members heard about the findings collected from public meetings, focus groups, and surveys regarding Grand Junction's Parks and Recreation system.

Santa Cause Run
Run or walk while raising money for inclusive playground equipment and win prizes along the way!
  • Virtual Event - Run/Walk between 12/6 and 12/12
  • 5K - $30, 1K (11 & under) - $15
  • Registration Deadline: 12/3
  • Drive up packet pick up with Santa, cookies and hot cocoa on 12/4 from 4 PM - 6 PM
  • Registration includes a Santa suit or race shirt!
Chocolate Walk
Experience downtown Grand Junction's holiday charm during a walking tour of beautiful Main Street, featuring your choice of either an Art on the Corner Tour or a History Tour. Be one of the first 100 participants to register and receive a mug commemorating the event, filled with Enstrom's hot chocolate!

Holiday Light Tour
This year we are changing it up and offering a virtual tour of the valley’s best Christmas lights! We will brave the cold and scour the land to bring you a compilation of the best Christmas light displays from the comfort of your living room. All you have to do is supply the hot chocolate! Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for a link to the tour!

Snow Storm & Tree Damage
The early season snow storm combined with trees still having leaves, caused extensive damage to Grand Junction's urban tree canopy. if you or your neighbor still have fallen tree limbs, the article below can help to understand which trees the City maintains and the right steps to take to address the problem.
Holiday Lights
The holiday season is here and that means downtown Grand Junction will be shining bright all season long! You may start to notice lights being hung around Main Street. The Forestry crew has been prepping trees for the holiday season. Once completed, Main Street and Colorado Avenue will be covered with holiday cheer!
Lunch Loop Trailhead Improvement Celebration
On Friday, October 16, the community celebrated the improvements made to the Lunch Loop Trailhead. A warm evening paired with tasty food from Food Truck Fridays and beautiful views, made for one amazing celebration! Watch the video to hear from the leaders behind this project!
Stocker Stadium
After several months of no activity, Stocker Stadium is now hosting High School football, CMU competitive football and marching band events. In the month of October, there was an event at the stadium every day and on several occasions, multiple events per day. There were only two days, October 5th and 12th, that did not have an event scheduled.
GJ Commission on
Arts & Culture
The Arts Commission has been busy this month cleaning and polishing 12 sculptures in our parks and open spaces, getting them ready with a protective coat for the winter! The Commission is committed to investing in the preservation of our public art.
