WEEKLY WRAP UP
Quarantine Reminders

We will continue to quarantine following the most up-to-date recommendations from Franklin County Public Health which currently includes guidelines for any individual who had close contact with an infected individual up to 48 hours prior to the onset of symptoms.

If a student or staff is a close contact with a positive case but does not develop symptoms, then the individual:
  • Should quarantine for 10 days from the last time they were around the case
  • Should monitor for symptoms for 14 days from the last time they were around the case
  • May return to school after day 7 by obtaining a negative rapid or PCR COVID-19 test taken on day 5 or later

If a student or staff is a close contact with a positive case and develops symptoms of COVID-19, then the individual:
  • Should isolate for 10 days from the onset of symptoms
  • May return to school on day 8 with a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken at least 5 days after the last time they were around the positive case and:
  • Symptoms have improved
  • Follows the sick child practices for school attendance

If a student or staff is not a close contact to a positive case or symptomatic individual but the student develops symptoms of COVID-19, then the individual:
  • Should isolate for 10 days from the onset of symptoms
  • May return to school with an alternative diagnosis or a negative rapid/PCR test result if/when:
  • Symptoms have improved
  • Follows the sick child practices for school attendance
Keep Up the Fight

We are so proud of the health and safety efforts our students and staff have made in the fight against COVID-19. Unfortunately, as the number of positive cases continues to rise in Franklin County, we are reminded that the battle is not over and we cannot lower our guard.

It is important that we all continue to practice some basic mitigation strategies to keep our community healthy and safe.
  1. Wear a mask when on school grounds. This includes athletic events and extracurricular activities held both indoors and outside.
  2. Avoid large groups and close contacts by maintaining a social distance from others.
  3. Wash your hands frequently.
