Due to redistricting, my children in first and third grade will have to change schools next year. I would like them to remain at their current school and not have to switch schools. What can I do?
An In-District Transfer may be requested for families who wish to have their children attend a school other than their assigned home school. Decisions regarding transfers are based on a variety of factors including enrollment projections, special programs and staffing.
Approved transfers are valid for one year only and a new request must be made each year. Due to constantly changing enrollment numbers, transfers may not be approved the following year even if it has been approved in the past.
If a transfer is approved, transportation for students attending a school outside of their assigned attendance area is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or childcare provider unless the request is granted due to special programming needs (Sp. Ed., ELL, Gifted).
