Get the Military Relocation Professional Certification
GLAR is hosting the MRP certification course for members on April 15th. The Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification is for real estate professionals who want to work with current and former military service members. The program educates REALTORS® about working with U.S. service members and their families and veterans to find the housing solutions that best suit their needs and to take full advantage of available benefits and support.

YPN Hosts Best Practices Panel - April 10
Coming up on April 10th, our panel of 4 guest Realtors® will discuss their best practices for etiquette, confrontation and courtesy, prospecting, safety, technology and more! The panel will feature Jay Gulick (Kentucky Select Properties), Trish Segrest (Keller Williams Realty), Jay Pitts (RE/MAX Premier Properties), and Heather Irish (RE/MAX Properties East).
Non-Deductible Dues Info for Tax Purposes
The Tax Reform Act of 1993 made the portion of dues paid to organizations which are spent to lobby State and Federal governments nondeductible for income taxes and requires this to be disclosed to members.
For 2019 Dues paid in Fall 2018:
NAR computes 38% or $57.00 (of the $150.00 per member) to be nondeductible for the member’s income tax due to NAR’s lobbying efforts on behalf of its members. Note that the entire $35.00 portion of dues related to public awareness qualifies as deductible dues.
KYR computes 5.17% or $7.49 (of the $145.00 per member) to be nondeductible for the member’s income tax due to KAR’s lobbying efforts on behalf of its members.
For Dues paid in 2018:
GLAR computes 6.71% or $11.87 (of the $177.00 per member) to be nondeductible for the member’s income tax due to GLAR’s lobbying efforts on behalf of its members. Note that the entire $275.00 for MSI dues and $480 for CIE dues are fully deductible.
What's the REALTOR ® Education Achievement Award?
New for 2019, GLAR introduced the REALTOR® Education Achievement Award. Recipients of this award will be recognized for their commitment to their professional development and improving service to customers and clients. REALTORS® who earn the Education Achievement Award will be recognized at the 2019 GLAR Annual Membership Meeting in September. In addition, the name and photo of each award winner will be published in an issue of Louisville Business First. READ MORE.
