Final FHA Condo Rule from HUD

On August 14, 2019, HUD released the long-awaited final FHA condo rule. After years of advocacy by NAR, HUD's final rule contains several elements that will enable more buyers to be able to use FHA-insured financing to purchase a condo. Highlights include:

The return of single unit approval, also known as spot loans, for units in non-FHA approved properties
Increased certification period from two to three years, plus a six month grace period to submit re-certification materials
Increased acceptable commercial space to 35 percent of total area
Reduced requirement for owner-occupancy percentage exceptions

The GLAR Annual Meeting and Installation Luncheon is on September 13th, 2019 . Held at the Crowne Plaza Louisville, this event includes presentations of coveted Association awards, a review of the year from our Presidents, and the swearing-in of Board Members. The luncheon is FREE for all GLAR REALTORS® and Affiliate Members, and guest tickets are available for $25.00 each. You must have a reservation to attend . Fulfill Your Kentucky Core or Broker Core at GLAR

Kentucky requires the Kentucky Core course to be completed by all active licensees subject to continuing education (CE) requirements once every four (4) years. Broker licensees may take either the Kentucky Core or Broker Core to fulfill this requirement. No other continuing education course will substitute for the Kentucky Core Course. The Core Course will satisfy the continuing education requirements for licensees in the year that it is taken.

Committee Sign Ups Now OPEN

Get involved in the decision making process of your Association by volunteering to serve on a committee! Click on the button below to view the list of available committees for the upcoming year and then sign-up ! If appointed, each committee member will serve a 2 year term with service beginning October 1, 2019 and ending on September 30, 2021. (Exception: Interview Committees and Legislative Quick Response Team serve a one year term beginning October 1, 2019. The Professional Standards Committee is a one year term with service beginning January 1, 2019.) DEADLINE for members to sign up for a committee is August 31, 2019.

NEW Rookies Workshop: Lead Generation

On September 20th, Marilyn Cundiff will present this session on smart tactics for lead generation and prospecting, scheduling, systems, strategies to get clients; and, breaking down methods to achieve appointments. Rookies Workshops are held monthly at the GLAR office and provide a wealth of useful information. These sessions are designed for Realtors® new to the industry; but, members of all experience levels are welcome to attend! Rookies Workshops are free and provide a great opportunity to learn from industry experts in an informal setting. Open to GLAR Realtors® only.

Important MLS News & Updates

Flexmls: Resize Columns in Search Results and Print Preview

You can now adjust your search results view in Flexmls Web, both on-screen and for the printed page. Previously, users couldn't adjust the column widths in search results. Now, you can modify the width of any column on the List tab of search results and in the print preview. To change the width, click on a column separator in the header and drag the double arrow to make adjustments.
