Dying to sin and rising to Christ! Many years ago my confirmation class was reading through the service of baptism. One of the students proclaimed, 'This is kinda grim!' She was noticing the language around death in the baptism liturgy. Just like the disciples, she noticed the death stuff more than the promise of resurrection that follows it. That is what Paul's writing is all about...how we should live now that we know death doesn't have the final say.
Good and gracious God, help us to live fully into what it means that death has no power over our lives in Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
