Regatta Volunteers Needed!

Hello GLC families!

We have a few exciting regattas, racing, and volunteer opportunities coming up as we make our way deep into racing season!

Head of the Charles Regatta

Wednesday, Oct.14 - Monday, Oct.19

We are excited to watch our junior women and men's 8+ and 4+ compete on Sunday, October 18 in Boston! Check the regatta website for livestream options to cheer them on from the comfort of your own couch!

The 2026 Erg-a-thon needs your support!

Hello Green Lake Community,

Quick reminder, amid all your fall training and racing, about the Erg-a-thon and why it matters.

Our five major fundraisers keep GLC running at a high level: the three home regattas fund the equipment you use every day, and the winter auction funds most of our financial aid. The Erg-a-thon covers everything else, like repairs when a boat runs aground (or falls over in the slings) and replacing aging ergs, all without raising fees.

How you can help:

On Saturday morning, October 24, we’ll come together at the lake as ONE GREEN LAKE, with juniors, masters, adaptive, paddlers, and board members all cranking a wheel that doesn’t float to keep our programs afloat.

Please get involved. And GO GREEN LAKE!

Calling all parent/family/friend volunteers!

No experience necessary!!!

Safety Launch Drivers

We are looking for folks who want to be out on the water driving a launch for the Frostbite regatta (10/31) and have a boating license. If you'd be game to volunteer and are interested, contact Kim Lerner (experienced girl Lucy's mom) at kimlerner567@gmail.com. She'll be in touch and get you set with all you need to know. Additionally, there will be a Saturday, October 17th at 11 am learn-the-ropes for launch driving on Green Lake gathering so the day of the regatta goes smoothly.

Get on the launch driver list by emailing kimlerner567@gmail.com.

Finish Line Timers

One volunteer slot on the SignUpGenius is for finish line timing. It's the closest way to see races at Green Lake home regattas and a fantastic way to meet other volunteers/parents on the team and learn about rowing. No experience is needed to volunteer, and if you are interested ahead of time, we will have a short gathering at the boathouse at 11 am on Saturday, October 17, to run down the timing gear and how it all works.

Sign up for finish line timing here - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508044BAEAA23ABFC1-61747985-2026#/
