What Can the GLCEDC do for your Business in 2018?

In 2017, the GLCEDC and its partners worked with eight companies and three area school districts disbursing over $325,000 in grants. Collectively, these projects have resulted in approximately 1,325 jobs created and/or retained, the addition of nearly 30,000 square feet of building improvements, approximately $2.2M in capital investment, and impacted the education of over 2,100 Livingston County students.

The GLCEDC, with the assistance of Livingston County, provides Economic Incentive Grants to employers who create at least 10 jobs with a wage and benefit package of at least $29,201 per year and retain the positions for at least one year after creation. The following businesses have received an Economic Incentive Grant:
- Advanced Technology Recycling, Pontiac, created 26 new jobs
- Anthony Liftgates, Pontiac, created 13 new jobs
- Caterpillar, Pontiac, created 513 new jobs
- Slagel Meats, Forrest, created 10 new jobs
- Technical Metals, Fairbury, created 10 new jobs

The Property Tax Abatement program provides up to 10 years of property tax abatements provided the applicants meet requirements pertaining to: new building improvements, capital investment, employment creation/retention, and wage standards. The following GLCEDC members have received a Property Tax Abatement:
- Anthony Liftgates, Pontiac
- BMCH Properties, Fairbury
- Caterpillar, Pontiac
- RKO Saw & Tool, Cullom
- Selig Group, Forrest

Building Improvement Grant
|
|
Building Improvement Grants are intended for small businesses which rehab vacant space or improve existing structures.
A reimbursement, not exceeding $11,250 is provided for qualifying expenditures. The following businesses have received a Building Improvement Grant:

- DeLong Ford, Dwight
- Hustedt Jewelers, Pontiac
- Pontiac Family Eye Care, Pontiac
- P.K. Unkorked, Pontiac
- Sealtite, Fairbury
- Total E Clips, Pontiac

ontiac Family Eye Care was awarded a $11,250 Building Improvement Grant to expand their building by 1,855 square feet, and make a complete interior renovation.

Educational Enhancement Stimulus Grant
|
|
The Educational Enhancement Stimulus Grant is dedicated to Livingston County schools which provide S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programming. Over 2,100 students in 3 school districts have been impacted by the Educational Enhancement Stimulus Grant including:
- Livingston Area Career Center, Pontiac
- District #429, Pontiac
- Woodland CUSD #5, Streator

Community Enhancement and Economic
Stimulus Grant
|
|
The Community Enhancement and Economic Stimulus Grant was established to make long-term investments through grants to not-for-profit organizations exclusively from GLCEDC funds which provide business and economic development opportunities in the Greater Livingston County area. The following businesses have received a Community Enhancement and Economic Stimulus Grant:
- District #429, Pontiac
- Futures Unlimited, Pontiac
- Livingston Area Career Center, Pontiac
- Livingston County Commission on Children & Youth, Pontiac
