On 15 September (08:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. EDT), GLOBE panelists from all six regions will present the story of GLOBE in their countries, and how the program is helping to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

How do your trees measure up? Get ready to find out! The GLOBE Program will be hosting a new data challenge, via the program’s mobile app, GLOBE Observer. The challenge will begin in October and run through November.

Save the Dates: 2022 North American Regional Meeting (NARM) Will Take Place on 02-04 (Virtual) and 07-08 (In Person) November

 

This year, the NARM will be divided into two sections, one virtual and one in-person. A final culminating virtual event will be held to bring everyone together to share reflections on the meeting. Stay tuned for more details on registration and cost.

Recent Paper Highlights Mosquito Habitat Mapper Tool

 

Recent paper highlights how data from multiple citizen science apps, including The GLOBE Program’s app, GLOBE Observer Mosquito Habitat Mapper (MHM) and Land Cover tools, help people provide images of mosquito specimens and breeding habitats using smartphones.

By making observations and recording data using The GLOBE Program’s app, GLOBE Observer MHM tool, and the information provided in GLOBE’s Mosquito Protocol Bundle, users can help reduce the risk of disease outbreaks. (Important Note: GLOBE’s Mosquito Larvae Protocol has been deactivated; to enter Mosquito data, use the GLOBE Observer MHM tool.)
