The International Science Council (ISC) and its partners will organize the 9th edition of the Science Summit around the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78) from 12-29 September 2023. The GLOBE Program will be represented for the second consecutive year.

2024 GLOBE Annual Meeting Update


The GLOBE Program Annual Meeting in 2024 will be held on the beautiful campus of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia, on the shore of Lake Erie. Meeting dates are Monday, 15 July to Thursday, 18 July 2024.

Josephine Joy Tolentino-Antalan, a GLOBE Master Trainer and a Biology Teacher from the Philippine Science High School Central Luzon Campus (PSHS-CLC), was awarded “Champion” under the Biodiversity & Conservation category of the event’s paper/ poster presentation for her research, “Visualization and Potential of Mosquito Breeding Sites in the Philippines Using GLOBE MHM Application.”

Over 100 campers from Camp Discovery in Blythewood, South Carolina, USA supported NASA’s missions this summer by participating in month-long NASA GLOBE IOPs during June and July.

Biontessori Research Group Visualizes Environment of Ciénaga de la Virgen, Colombia


The Biontessori Research Group has participated in visualizing the environmental problems that are taking place in the Ciénaga de la Virgen, the second most important wetland in Colombia´s North Coast. Biontessori group comprises middle and high school students forms 6th to 11th grade.

Quito, Ecuador Students Study Climate and Trees Using GLOBE Protocols and Observer App


PYP Exhibition projects created by 6th-graders in the Colegio Británico Internacional school (Quito, Ecuador) show the community the inquiry skills students developed about the many topics global warming involves.

Uruguayan "Schoolyard Butterflies" Fly to Denver for the GLOBE Annual Meeting


Two students had the opportunity to attend the GLOBE Annual Meeting in the city of Denver, Colorado and share with this great scientific community their research project about the relationship between the presence of butterflies in their schoolyard and environmental variables such as temperature, cloud cover, humidity, wind speed and direction.

The first in-person Mentor Trainers Workshop in Bhutan took place in Paro from 31 July to 4 August. Participants convened at the Tashi Namgay hilltop hotel complex overlooking the Paro Chhu river and the Rinpung Dzong monastery.

GLOBE Students Voices Reached the Dominican Senate


Aiming for more significant audiences outside of the classroom and with the courage from knowing they are walking the right path, GLOBE students from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic started a campaign of Zero Plastics to reduce the carbon print and global warming that inspired the Dominican Senate to allow only biodegradable plastics in the country.

Green Heritage Fund Suriname's Mangrove Activity Boxes Engage Students


The Green Heritage Fund Suriname (GHFS) started the Community Based Mangrove Management (CBMM) pilot project for the preservation and protection of mangrove ecosystems. One of the aims of this project was to develop content and execute activities to build community and stakeholder awareness and active engagement in the conservation of mangrove ecosystems.
