Face Masks, Please
As we prepare for a potential return to campus, an attention to correct mask-wearing is imperative. Please practice with your children.
Remember:
> All students and staff must wear proper face masks on campus. They should also have a spare face mask with them. GLOBE Trot buffs cannot be used as masks.
> Students who are not wearing their mask properly will be gently corrected and coached on the importance of this behavior.
> If students willfully decline to wear their masks correctly, they will besent home to engage in virtual learning for a period of time. Their parents will also need to participate in a conference with the head of school.

Chromebook Troubles?
Is your student having trouble with his/her Chromebook? We have recently installed a new extension that will help to monitor and clean Chromebook CPU and RAM usage. If your student is having trouble getting or staying connected to classes, or finds that new tabs just keep “loading,” please check this extension for more information. If the memory and CPU usage is close to 100%, try restarting the Chromebook and opening fewer tabs at a time. Reach out to Mrs. Limor (jlimor@theglobeacademy.net), if you need a service appointment.

Lower Campus
Illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser will be visiting with K-3 students Thursday, February 11 at 2:30 p.m. Please support Little Shop of Stories for working diligently to bring authors to our students even during digital learning by purchasing one of her books. They will come with an autographed nameplate. All orders are due by February 12. Below are the links for book orders. Upper Campus
Virtual Language Field Trip for 8th grade
Eighth grade students will have the opportunity to participate in a full-day language immersion program hosted by Concordia Language Villages on Friday, March 5. Please look for information from Dr. Hertz and the 8th grade team to remit payment for this “trip”.

Get ready to celebrate Chinese New Year!
Join us for a watch party on Thursday, February 11 at 7 p.m. to see the Atlanta Chinese Dance Company perform for Chinese New Year. Be sure to kick off the morning of Chinese New Year on Friday, February 12 by posting pictures of your children in traditional Chinese dress clothes. Later that evening, post pictures and videos on the Parents and Teachers of GLOBE facebook page of your children replicating the dance. #GLOBECNYOXCHALLENGE

CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Black History Month: Celebrating The Black Family
We want to share your family story. Submit written stories, videos, poetry, readings, recipes that reflect your family story to bhmglobe@gmail.com. Look out for Black History facts throughout the month and stay tuned for a special spirit night, virtual artist visit and more.

This year's event will once again be VIRTUAL from Friday, May 15 at 7 p.m. – Saturday, May 16 at 7 p.m. Anyone can participate in this mobile-driven, super-fun, and incredibly important fundraiser that supports GLOBE events, teacher grants, and staff appreciation. Registration will be FREE and begins soon on the Auction website. Email the Auction team with any irresistible donation item ideas and/or interest in volunteering. GLOBE families that secure Auction items will automatically be entered into the Big Ticket Item raffle. Follow the GLOBE PTCC Facebook page for more details. This event was a huge success last year – let’s make that happen again this year!

This school year, GLOBE is facing significant budget cuts. We are currently halfway to our goal of raising $300,000 in unrestricted funding for GLOBE this school year. We still need your help to make sure we reach our goal, so please consider making a one-time or recurring gift to the Annual Fund. Every dollar counts and we appreciate your support!

Vikings Water Polo — Wanna give it a try??
Water Polo is a great conditioning sport for swimming and the spring season is just in time for preparation for Summer League swimming. We are now inviting any student from all schools grades 6-12 to join our team. Practice will be Monday and Wednesday nights at Dynamo. We offer a “try-out” period for students wanting to check out Water Polo the first week of practice. Spring Conditioning season runs February 15 – April 28.
