The Contractor will begin excavating for a valve vault on the north side of 13 Mile Road at M5 in late May. This work will happen a few days prior to a 3-day closure of 13 Mile Road at M-5 to allow the installation of new 54-inch pipe crossing to the south side of roadway. This road closure is planned for late May or early June. Exact dates are still being considered and will be communicated with the Detour Route.
After the 3-day closure of 13 Mile Road, the Contractor will begin installation of
the water pipe on the south side of 13 Mile Road. At this time, 13 Mile Road
will be partially reopened for use and the lane shift on 13 Mile Road will be
in effect. Two-way traffic will be maintained and turn movements will not be
restricted; however the left turn lane will be eliminated throughout
construction. Fox Run residents may want to consider turning right out of the community to avoid potential for traffic backups. This work and traffic shift is
anticipated to start in early June.
Once the pipe is buried, three to four weeks of additional interior pipe work is
necessary to complete the installation. This interior pipe work will not
be visible to the general public. Road restoration will begin once the pipe
interior work is complete.
We anticipate road work completion on this portion of the project in August.
