GLWA says project completion is scheduled for late October 2023, which includes a fully opened and repaved Meadowbrook Road. Thank you for your continued patience.

Valued Novi community member:

Whether this is your first project update or you have been receiving this e-newsletter for a while, we want to start by saying THANK you! Thank you for your patience. Thank for your understanding. Thank you.

For more than a year now, your lives have been disrupted due to the construction of the 54-inch water transmission main along Meadowbrook Road, and soon 13 Mile Road. On behalf of GLWA, our apologies for the length of this project and impact construction has had to your neighborhood.

Your City of Novi staff team coordinates weekly with our GLWA partners and will continue to advocate for you and the most safe and efficient way to complete this water distribution enhancement.

Our goal is to provide accurate and timely communication, to the best of our ability, and to hopefully alleviate some of your concern by giving you reliable information while also being a resource you can trust when you have issues or questions.

We also ask that you forward this to anyone who might want or need to be kept informed of the watermain construction impacting 13 Mile and Meadowbrook Roads. Those wishing to join the distribution list can simply CLICK HERE to sign up.

MEADOWBROOK ROAD

The Contractor is still on schedule to complete the pipe installation and road restoration of Meadowbrook north of 12 Mile Road in October 2023.

Contractor pipeline installation activities continue to progress north of Hummingdale Circle.  Residents living in the Beacon Hill subdivision and north of Hummingdale Circle should continue to go south to 12 Mile Road.

Street sweeping will continue one to two times per week.

If you have any other issues, please reach out to the City's Community Relations Department or GLWA.

13 MILE ROAD

The Contractor will begin excavating for a valve vault on the north side of 13 Mile Road at M5 in late May. This work will happen a few days prior to a 3-day closure of 13 Mile Road at M-5 to allow the installation of new 54-inch pipe crossing to the south side of roadway. This road closure is planned for late May or early June. Exact dates are still being considered and will be communicated with the Detour Route.

After the 3-day closure of 13 Mile Road, the Contractor will begin installation of

the water pipe on the south side of 13 Mile Road. At this time, 13 Mile Road

will be partially reopened for use and the lane shift on 13 Mile Road will be

in effect. Two-way traffic will be maintained and turn movements will not be

restricted; however the left turn lane will be eliminated throughout

construction. Fox Run residents may want to consider turning right out of the community to avoid potential for traffic backups. This work and traffic shift is

anticipated to start in early June.

Once the pipe is buried, three to four weeks of additional interior pipe work is

necessary to complete the installation. This interior pipe work will not

be visible to the general public. Road restoration will begin once the pipe

interior work is complete.

We anticipate road work completion on this portion of the project in August.

PUBLIC SAFETY/EMERGENCY SERVICES

The City of Novi Police and Fire Departments are aware of the upcoming construction (center lane elimination on 13 Mile Road and full closure at 13 Mile and M5) and are working with our Fox Run partners to best determine any adjustments/enhancements necessary during that time.

THANK YOU

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding and will work to be as accommodating as possible.
