Every event has a beginning, and the genesis of my ministry trip was my introduction to Michael George, the Open Bible field director who leads 450 Open Bible pastors and evangelists. At the 2023 Open Bible National Convention in Texas, I was stirred by a calling to go and to share in India, something I never previously even considered. Michael and his lovely wife Sujomol and my wife and I had an immediate Holy Spirit connection. As we discovered each other's hearts, Michael extended an invitation to come to India and share with his pastors and evangelists in a series of meetings in the Andhra Pradesh area of India.

The preparation in prayer remains life changing, as are the memories of the trip. My prayer was that the Lord would craft what He would have me to do and to be, and speak to me detailing what I needed to do to be prepared. The answer came quicker than I expected. I needed to be set apart to be, more than to do. I really had no desire to "see the sights of India", instead to see God's hand to save, heal, deliver, and set in motion His heart's desire.

Michael, Sujamol, and Paul, a servant of God and our driver and prayer warrior, quickly started the work. We drove from Visakhapatnam to the remote mission facility and church in Satya Veda Samaj. Michael, Paul and I walked and visited the neighboring village. We invited the people to attend church on Sunday and I was privileged to enter grass thatched huts and pray for several people. Sunday came and about forty people were expected, however, 170 people attended that morning. The Gospel message was preached, and sixty souls accepted Jesus as their Lord in first time decisions. Others stood, but Michael asked those previously saved to sit back down on the floor. Thirty-five to forty people admitted God's touch in their lives and fourteen people came up for prayer and were healed or delivered. Praise God for His mighty work! 

From there we started on a journey that provided opportunity to teach, anoint with oil and pray for over 200 pastors and evangelists. In each village and town where we stopped, whether big or small, Michael introduced me to the people, I prayed, and God did what only He can do. On one occasion Michael asked if I would go to this mountain where a large idol was given space. Many gathered around the idol. I went up to the idol and the Scripture came to heart that these idols have eyes and do not see and have ears, yet they do not hear. I prayed there and bound the influence of that idol and commanded that it had no effect on those who came before it. This is also a place that looked out over the city of Visakhapatnam, a city of over four million lives. There, overlooking the city I bound the idol's influence, and spoke and expressed freely the power of God to draw souls to salvation.

We traveled to the other side of the mountain where the harbor is, with both military and civilian shipping along with the airport. God grants authority to bind and speak in Jesus’ name and so I did. While there, I was able to pray for five college graduates that asked for prayer concerning their pending testing to be civil servants and or government employees. The Lord knows the result of those prayers. 

The chance to travel and minister in India has changed my life. Ministering in India, the most populated nation in the world with only 1.9 percent Christians, was humbling and sobering. Jesus is coming back for His Church! The opportunity to minister in India, where making converts to Christianity is illegal, where churches are being burned, pastors and church members are being thrown into prison, ministering to pastors as the Holy Spirit is prompting to share the Three (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and the willingness to give our lives for the work of the Gospel, is humbling, so vital and awe provoking.

"Oh Lord what would you have me do, say, and what manner of life would You have me be?"

The opportunity to minister with my wife Maria in pastoring New Beginnings Open Bible Church in Aberdeen, Washington, takes on new meaning and purpose after my trip to India. I thank God for the opportunity. Pray on what the Lord is challenging you to do or support. May all be done to the glory of Jesus Christ our Lord.
