Good Afternoon,
Upcoming Bridge Work – In last week’s Eblast, I informed you about repair work being performed on the Pier Drive bridge behind the dam and I let you know that the project would begin on Tuesday, September 8th. This past week, Helm has informed us that they will start the bridge project 2 weeks later than originally scheduled.
This project will begin on Wednesday, September 23rd and it should take 2-4 weeks to complete. During construction, Pier Drive behind the dam will be closed to all traffic. During this time, you will need to use Best Road to avoid the construction area.
Board Vacancy – Due to the resignation of Alan Andersen, the Board is accepting resumes from those who would be willing to fill the vacant seat which expires at the end of the 2027 Annual meeting. If you’re interested, please forward a copy of your resume to me at gm@lake-summerset.com or you may simply reply to this email.
Board Election – This year’s Board election will be a “no contest” election as Fred Kile has withdrawn his candidacy and will no longer be running for one of the two available seats. By default, the two remaining candidates, Dennis Vizenor and Donna Weston will be elected to the Board. Our By-Laws outline the process for filling vacant seats as well as elections and they can be found on the website.
Utility Locate Flags – We recently had a report from a contractor that the Utility Locate flags (JULIE) had been removed by a property owner because they didn’t know what they were or why there were there. In this case, the flags were placed in the utility easement at the rear of their property so that Sonic could bury fiber-optic-cable in the easement. As a result, work was delayed because the utilities had to be located and marked for a second time. If you ever notice small red, blue, yellow flags in the front or rear of your property, please leave them alone. When the contractor has completed the work, it is their responsibility to remove the flags. Thanks.
