SentriLock and One-Day Codes
We are getting feedback from members that many agents out there are still requesting one-day codes from the listing agents of properties that utilize the SentriLock lockbox system. Please keep in mind that a one-day code can be denied to any agent.
 
The GMAR Board of Directors' policy is that a listing broker does not have to give out one-day codes, if that is what is agreed upon with the seller. Accessing a listing with a SentriLock box does not place an unreasonable burden on any showing/buyer’s agent, because obtaining SentriLock credentials is extremely easy.
 
However, if the showing/buyer’s agent does not have access to SentriLock credentials, but is a REALTOR® (i.e. a member of the Commercial Board), the Association encourages GMAR members to give them access via a one-day code or SentriConnect. Additionally, in most cases, the GMAR will allow non-member REALTORS® to pay the SentriLock fee to obtain access to the system without becoming a member of the GMAR.
