IT'S TAX TIME, ARE YOU READY?
It's that time of year again. The tax season is upon us, and if you need some help navigating your taxes, you'll want to check out NAR's Center for REALTOR® Financial Wellness .  This new complimentary resource, designed exclusively to meet the financial planning needs of REALTORS®, can steer you in the right direction.
Just log into  the site , scroll down to the "Search the Center" section, and type in "Tax" to find a variety of tax-prep resources. These easy-to-follow tax pointers, written for the unique needs of REALTORS®, can make this tax season a little less overwhelming.
  • What tax deductions should real estate professionals know?
  • How much of my commission should I set aside?
  • How can I calculate my business expenses?
  • What are good ways to avoid tax surprises?
  • What is an estate tax?
  • What is a gift tax?
You'll also want to check out the video series on nar.realtor that covers everything you need to know about the new tax laws .
If you're ahead of the game and have already filed your taxes, take some time anyway to navigate the Center for REALTOR® Financial Wellness where you can assess your current financial profile and receive personalized financial planning goals. The site also includes a robust library of budgeting, retirement, investing resources, and more that you'll want to tap into.

FURNITURE FOR VETERANS NEEDED
Please see below from Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative:

Through our Home Support program we move formerly homeless veterans into their new living spaces, providing everything they need to set up housekeeping and begin their new lives. When a veteran finally gets an apartment, often through a federal program, he/she is often given the keys and little else with no resources to purchase them. That's where MHVI comes in.

We are fortunate to have many generous donors who provide household items. However, right now, we have an emergent need. Our furniture supply is very low and with some items, we have nothing left.

We are hopeful you will help our veterans, who truly have nothing, by providing a donation of furniture. We are in dire need of (apartment sized):
Beds
Kitchen table/Chairs
Coffee Tables/End tables
Sofas/Love seats (under 72 inches)

Our staff will gladly pick up your donation and then deliver it to the veteran. Please call 414-257-4111 for more information.

SentriLock Tips:

1. SentriLock has a great set of "how to" videos that are good refreshers if you need some. Click here to watch .

You can click here t o sign up for a time to pick up your credentials and any lockboxes that you are eligible for. We will also go over how to use the system at this time.

One thing to note from SentriLock:
In the summer of 2019, SentriLock plans to no longer support Contractor Codes for our Bluetooth® REALTOR® lockbox. While a convenient service in the past, with the introduction of the One Day Code and more recently, SentriConnect® for non-agent access, we believe our Contractor Codes have fulfilled their usefulness and we’ll be turning them off for all Bluetooth® REALTOR® lockboxes.

If you need additional lockboxes , you can come to the GMAR office: 12300 W. Center St., Wauwatosa, M-F 8:30am-5:00pm. We will need to verify that you have an active listing so please either bring your signed listing contract or make sure it is showing in the MLS. Lockboxes are only provided for active listings that we can verify (we will not be giving lockboxes for vacant land, rental or commercial properties).

We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions on electronic lockboxes.

REALTOR® Training | Renovation Lending: A Contractor's Perspective

This exclusive Realtor®-only event is designed to help you get a better understanding of what goes into the renovation process from the contractor's perspective. We'll polish it off with a brief recap of renovation lending as well.

Our favorite general home contracting company, COR Improvements, will be sending over Awesome Rachel Miller to talk to you about what it takes to execute an amazing home remodel while tying that into the offer process for a buyer looking to buy a fixer-upper. It's complicated - we've all heard the stories - but with the right contractor and the right lender, it can be a breeze.

The team at LeaderOne will, then, wrap up the talk with a short recap from a previous Wisdom Wednesday on the renovation lending process.
Sign up today before the seats are all taken.

We cannot wait to see you!

Location: GMAR – 12300 W Center St, Milwaukee, WI 53222
