WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Will we have complete housing sales recovery by the end of the year?

'The good news is that the worst is likely behind us, and the annualized level of housing sales will be better in the third and fourth quarter than it was in the second. Generally, these economists believe that full recovery will occur later in 2021.'

CAPITOL INSIGHTS: PODCAST SERIES

In the 2018 Movrich v. Lobermeier case, the Wisconsin Supreme Court held that riparian owners on a flowage do not have a right to place a pier. This decision could impact thousands of waterfront property owners by limiting their access to the water and decreasing the value of their property. WRA Senior Vice President of Legal and Public Affairs Tom Larson and attorney, land use and property rights specialist Larry Konopacki discuss the fallout from this decision and the status of legislation to restore the rights to place a pier in the Badger State.

SE WI EMERGENCY SUPPORT GROUP UPDATES
GMAR member Rochelle Gamauf and her team at the SE WI Emergency Support Group are still moving forward in their efforts to help those in need.  We are making a difference going on 16 weeks!!    Each week they deliver   450 pounds of donated food, personal care, pet supplies and household items to families in need.  Their efforts evolved into an official not-for-profit organization and obtained their 501C3 status. At this time they are actively transitioning into a "choice pantry". This new format will allow families the flexibility to shop and order available items online in addition to meals.

As they continue to expand their services, a few temporary changes have been made to stay compliant with necessary regulations.  The home-cooked meals have been placed on hold, however they have explored alternative ways to get the home-cooked meal concept to their families via a meal kit.  This kit contains everything the family needs to prepare a home-cooked meal. By providing these kits they hope to encourage families to learn to cook or expand their current skills and have more interaction within the family unit. Her team has found that families can cook on their own but still need the right ingredients and maybe a little positive encouragement. Right now, they are looking to secure a commercial kitchen. Once this is obtained, they can purchase food in bulk and lower the cost per kit. This will go a long way to helping even more people.

We still need your help and there are 3 ways in which you can do so.
  1. Please make a donation through the GoFundMe page to help pay for the food purchsed each week for the meal kits.
  2. Donate items needed to the specified drop off locations.
  3. Volunteer to help with collections, delivery, weekly prep or administrative assistance.

Our GMAR members have really stepped up and shown their support to their local communities and we hope to see this continue.
