GMAR WEEKLY UPDATES
MESSAGE FROM GMAR CHAIRWOMAN
COURTNEY STEFANIAK
It’s the beginning of July and summer is flying. I've heard from a few agents that the market has cooled off a bit, they’re only seeing 3-5 offers per house instead of 10+. If we are seeing things calm down it’s not due to an increase in supply, it’s because buyers have paused their searches. This is more than a local problem, and it’s been building for years, so it will take some time to get out of. NAR just completed a report titled, Housing Is Critical Infrastructure: Social and Economic Benefits of Building More Housing highlighting the causes of housing shortages and offering potential solutions for federal and local level policymakers. Stay tuned for more on this matter!

Giving to charities makes us feel good, and we have two great opportunities coming up.

First, for every $1 donated, 9 meals will go to children in need. That’s why the Wisconsin REALTORS® Foundation is teaming up with Feeding Wisconsin to distribute food to families through food pantries and mobile distributions, supplying food through school backpack programs, and delivering food directly to families' homes. You can donate here, and learn more about the WRF and Feeding Wisconsin here.

Second, please join me on September 30th for the Youth Foundation’s Beer & Wine tasting event at Terrace 167 in Richfield from 5:30-8:00pm.

Happy Fourth! Take some time with family, rest and recharge.

Sincerely,
Courtney Stefaniak
2021 Chairwoman
KEEP YOUR CLIENTS IN THE LOOP ON LOCAL EVENTS
Here’s another was to stay in-touch with your client base: Let them know about events, meetings and festivities in their community. The GMAR has compiled a list of official municipal websites in the four-county area.

Let your clients know when local parades are scheduled, important local meetings are being held, or how to sign up for municipal newsletters; use this resource as you see fit.

The list will be located on our website, under the Resources tab, titled “Municipal Websites”.

Along with being knowledgeable about local housing markets, now you can share your knowledge of your local community.

Are real estate licensing requirements overly burdensome? Do they keep people out of the business? In this episode, the WRA's Tom Larson and Cori Lamont discuss the push by some individuals to reform the occupational licensing process in Wisconsin.
HOMELESS VETERANS NEED OUR HELP
We Need More Fans!

Not the GMAR, we have plenty of loyal fans!
However, the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative (MHVI) needs the fans you plug in. Many veterans, transitioning from the streets to an apartment, or temporary living dwellings do so without basic home furnishings. To these veterans, fans, to keep an apartment cool, are a luxury.

We will take new, or gently used fans at the GMAR office or directly at the MHVI - 6300 W National Ave, West Allis, WI 53214.

Please contact Scott Bush if you have any questions.
DO YOU HAVE YOUR C2EX CERTIFICATION?
