The following is from the Product Prices Effect Summary from the report.



Commodity prices for July showed mixed movements on a per-pound basis: butter price rose $0.09, nonfat dry milk price increased $0.03, and dry whey gained $0.02, while cheese declined $0.17, all on a per pound basis. The Class I price for July increased by $1.56. The Class I prices for the Appalachian, Florida and Southeast Orders were: $24.42/cwt, $25.62/cwt, and $24.62/cwt, respectively.

2025 Sunbelt Dairy Showdown Submission Deadline Suspended - Submit Your Videos Now!

Last High schoolers in 4-H and FFA - Think you’ve got what it takes to take home the title of 2025 Sunbelt Dairy Showdown Champion???

Apply now for a chance to compete in the legen-dairy milking competition at the 2025 Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia. This two-part competition challenges students to create a short educational video using the phrase “Milk’s Got Game.” If your video is selected as a finalist, 2-4 high school students will get to represent your chapter in the live milking competition on October 15th to compete for the grand prize and title of 2025 Sunbelt Dairy Showdown Champions.

 

Finalists will receive free single-day passes to the Sunbelt Ag Expo, a dairy-themed swag bag, and a donation to their 4-H or FFA chapter courtesy of Georgia Milk Producers, Inc., Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation, and United Dairy Farmers of Florida. Visit here to view the full contest rules and information before applying.

2025 UGA Dairy Farmer Survey: Antibiotic Use and Alternative Dry Cow Therapies

The UGA Animal and Dairy Science team is looking for Georgia dairy farmers to help with an ongoing grant project focused on antibiotic usage and alternative dry cow therapies. Please take 10 minutes to fill out this anonymous survey and help the faculty at UGA gather information to measure current attitudes and management preferences around antibiotic use. Your participation will go a long way towards aiding the University's continued work in dairy research and extension. For questions, email Dr. Jillian Bohlen at jfain@uga.edu
