Georgia Responds: Volunteer to Help Stop COVID-19

The Georgia Department of Public Health has created Georgia Responds, a health and medical volunteer program which matches the skills and credentials of medical and nonmedical volunteers to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in Georgia.

Medical volunteers may be used to answer medical questions coming into the COVID-19 hotline, or assist at test specimen collection sites. Nonmedical volunteers may be used in administrative roles at either the call-center or test collection sites, or provide interpretation or other skills as needed.

To volunteer, log on to  and click on the “Register Now” box. Registering only takes a few minutes. Prospective volunteers will be asked for their name, address, contact information and occupation type.

For more information on Georgia Responds, please read this brochure on the program.
A Message from GOA Silver Partner Lunovus

Dear Doctor:

We’re living in a time in which virtually every business has been affected in some way by COVID-19. Let us assure you that Lunovus is here for you. Given our role in the health care industry, we are classified as an essential business: Our warehouse is fully operational, our practice success team is working around-the-clock, and it’s more crucial than ever for us to support you and your patients. That starts with making sure your patients have consistent access to the recurring treatment plans that you have recommended.
If you’re not taking advantage of our free home delivery system, there’s no better time than now. Through our Doc2Home MultiCare program, we can dispense any non-prescription products — whether they’re manufactured by Lunovus or not — to your patients on a subscription basis. This program ensures that your patients never run out of the eye care products you need and that your practice still receives monthly revenue from OTC product sales, no matter the circumstances.

To make things easier for your practice during this pandemic, we’re going even further:

  • We’ve created a downloadable email template for you to send to your patients, letting them know that they can still count on their doctors to supply the eye care products they need.
  • If for any reason, you’re unable to field patient calls about their essential treatments, your patients can contact us directly and we’ll make sure they get the products they need. We will make sure that if one of your patients calls us, we’ll credit their order to your practice.
  • We’re also waiving all fees and shipping costs associated with Doc2Home MultiCare until this crisis is over — we don’t want anything to stand in the way of your ability to provide critical care to your patients from afar.

Being owned and operated by medical practitioners, Lunovus is acutely aware of the challenges that our fellow medical professionals are currently facing. Let us know how we can best support your practice at this time. Simply reply to this email to start a conversation or call us at  205-341-9430  and we can get your practice set up to offer convenient home delivery for FREE. We look forward to partnering with you to keep your patients safe and healthy.

Did You Know?
When you partner with Lunovus, a portion of your purchase goes back into the Georgia Optometric Association, helping to fund educational events, conferences, and engagements that benefit the eye care industry in our state
