GOA Educates Public About Vision Health & Safety During COVID-19 Pandemic

The Georgia Optometric Association is continuing its efforts to educate the public about vision health and increase consumer awareness of the profession of optometry even during these days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a story this week with WAGA-TV Fox5 Atlanta, GOA President Dr. Mehrdad E. Saadat provided best practices for contact lens and eyeglasses wearers that will help them prevent the possible spread of COVID-19.  
"If there is some form of transmission (of the coronavirus) on the eye or eyelashes, that can easily be absorbed into the body," Dr. Saadat told Fox5 Atlanta.  "Priority number one starts with keeping your hands clean with soap and water."
Dr. Saadat demonstrated proper techniques for handwashing, contact lens cleaning, storage and disposal.
