Join the SBA for an online panel discussion with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender-owned small businesses as they share their small business stories and how they utilized SBA’s economic aid to pivot during the pandemic. JUNE 24: HOMEOWNER 101 ONLINE through Home Depot, 8 to 9 p.m. In this Homeowner 101 Workshop, their knowledgeable trainers help you develop the skills and fundamentals to care for your outdoor areas. JUNE 26: YOUTH FISHING DERBY, Forness Pond, Olean, 9:30 a.m. registration, 10 a.m. to Noon derby. The derby will have two age groups: younger than 10 and 10 and older. Participants over the age of 16 must possess a valid NYS fishing license to participate. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the event and the Olean Rod & Gun Club will provide hotdogs and pop to participants.

JUNE 29: RACE UNITY CIRCLE BOOK CLUB, 8 p.m. by zoom. The club will discuss One Person, No Vote: How Voter Suppression Is Destroying Our Democracy by Carol Anderson. Send email to sign up specifying the April RUC Book Club. You will receive a link to the Zoom meeting in your email. Multiple copies of the book are available via the library.

Databranch is actively looking to hire a Technology Business Development Consultant to join their team here in Olean over the past 6 weeks but have had limited applicants and not much success finding a right-fit candidate.

FAMILY NUTRTION EDUCATION CURRICULUM, Jamestown Community College, in person in Olean AND zoom online: This series addresses nutrition recommendations presented in the USDA’s Dietary Guidelines 2020 – 2025 and MyPlate.gov resources. Also covered are food resource management and physical activity topics.

JULY 2-4: SUMMER MUSIC FEST, Holiday Valley, Ellicottville, On July 3rd, music will feature Steve Augeri, former lead singer of Journey, with opening act Tommy Decarlo, current lead singer of the band Boston. Key topics include Medicare basics, filing deadlines, enrollment windows, various insurance options, and much more. Those interested should contact the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce at 716-372-4433 to reserve their spot and obtain instructions on joining the meetings. Enrollment is limited to ensure proper attention and care are delivered to those in attendance.
