The parking lot looked beautiful! It was painted with suns, rainbows, flowers, and families! It was a beautiful morning with parents and students helping our parking lot come alive. Thank you to all the parents that came out to celebrate.

The school will be closed Monday, September 5th, in observance of Labor Day! We will see everyone again on Tuesday, September 6th!

As a school, we will remember 911 by inviting our faculty and students to dress like patriots as we remember the lives lost and the heroic acts on September 11, 2001. We will make flags and parade to honor those who lost their lives.

PARENT ATTENDANCE EVENT
On Friday, September 16th, we will be inviting parents to bring bikes and help their children ride around the parking lot. Parents have to accompany children for safety reasons. If you are not able to come, the classroom will have a special activity for children.

BABY BEARS
Our Baby Bears enjoy learning with Lily.
We sang songs to learn the different parts of our
bodies. We also practiced counting as we counted
the parts of our body...this was exciting!
In September, we will learn about our Family and
Friends!

BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES
We have enjoyed sensory explorations and can't wait to learn about Seasonal changes!! In our Butterflies classroom, we engaged in hands-on learning using soil, sand, playdough, water, etc. Over September, we will ask and answer questions such as ...Who are the people in your family? We will use the medium of music to help children answer questions. We will also learn to match animal mother's to their baby.

RAZZLING RATTLERS
In August, we learned about ourselves and our body parts!!! The children enjoyed moving to the 'head, shoulder, knees, and toes' music while identifying their body parts! In September, we will explore the concept of the family while learning about who is in a family, what immediate family means, who has pets, and where we live. We will create our communities as we continue to explore blocks and create our community. We will also work on matching the parent and baby animals.

HAPPY HIPPOS
The Hippos have loved exploring all their new manipulatives and the new layout of centers in their classroom. Over August, they enjoyed learning about themselves and their classmates and what makes each of us unique. In September, we get to explore the immediate and extended members of our families. We are excited to see how they envision their family members when we draw a family portrait. We will build on our vocabulary as we play a game using the different landmarks that we pass on the way to school. We will use our community blocks, tape to create roads, and cars to drive on these roads. We will use our color-changing glasses to see the world in different colors as we look for Fall Color Leaves.

GALLOPING GAZELLES
We have been learning about our senses. Our Senses have been helping us learn in all areas of the classroom! We have been using our fingers to help us learn to count. Our senses are so helpful!
We are looking forward to September as we set the tone for what members of my family mean. We will explore immediate members, relatives, pets, and the community.
We look forward to seeing how observant our children are when we ask them what "landmarks, restaurants, etc." are on their way to school. We will use our classroom resources to "construct" our community and showcase our community knowledge!!

WACKY WILDCATS
In August, we enhanced our Math skills by building
graphs to understand the diversity in our classroom community regarding hair and eye color. We had fun learning about our peers and
Over September, we look forward to learning about our Family and Community members. We will create a family tree drawing all the people in our extended family. We will learn the concept of compare and contrast as we read the stories "The 3 Bears rap" and "The Three bears". We will also continue to learn math positional terms (behind, in front of, under, over, inside, and outside)

LOVELY LIONS
This month, we have learned about ourselves. We learned about the resources in our classroom and how we should take care of our classroom resources and friends.
In September, we will continue to work on our letter knowledge. We will also explore classroom jobs and what responsibilities come with our jobs. We will explore measurement and seasonal changes!

TERRIFIC TIGERS
The Tigers enjoyed reading stories and then dove deeper by discussing what parts of the story to create story maps! In Science, students explored matter and light.
This month children will be exploring plants, pollination, and life cycle. The country of the month will be Brazil.

SEPTEMBER SPANISH
In August we reviewed the Spanish vocabulary for parts of the body.
Over the month of September we will be learning about Friends, Family, and Home. In addition to vocabulary words we will be learning the below songs that will introduce themed vocabulary words and also help us learn the language in a musical way!
