On August 21, Governor Kristi Noem announced that Joe Fiala has been appointed Commissioner of the Governor's Office of Economic Development.

“I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues and economic developers across the state to help businesses grow and to positively impact the economy of South Dakota,” said Joe Fiala.

Manufacturing week is right around the corner, and we'd like to help you start planning for it. The week-long celebration hopes to honor the manufacturing sector by sharing the impact on the country's economy.

Our team has put together a media kit for your use as well. Watch for that to come in a different email in the coming days.

GOED is implementing a new system, LASSO, to streamline the Request for Information (RFI) process. LASSO is a property data collection tool that will accelerate the data assembly process to help efficiently distribute RFIs to our stakeholders.

Our goal with this tool is to speed up the process and make it less cumbersome. This platform will have required sections, that will prevent organizations from submitting incomplete information.
