In international news, Commissioner Joe Fiala participated in a trade mission to Israel in partnership with South Dakota Trade. They met with Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Speaker of the Knesset, and the U.S. Ambassador to build strong relationships and discuss new trade opportunities.

Since then, several businesses have shown interest in South Dakota, and our reps are working those leads.

ADVANCED SUNFLOWER

Imagine yourself at a baseball game, the sun shining down, and you're eating a bag of delicious sunflower seeds. This is an experience many of us have had, but did you know those seeds are likely grown and made right here in South Dakota? Advanced Sunflower, located in Huron, has become a key player in the sunflower industry since moving to the state in 2011.

GOED is excited to announce the launch of a new system, Lasso, designed to streamline the RFI process. Lasso will make the RFI process faster and less cumbersome. Starting in March 2025, all RFIs will be required to be submitted using the Lasso system. GOED will host a training webinar in January 2025 that will be recorded and posted to our site.
